World Series Odds Update
Game three of the MLB National League Championship is set to go tonight with the St. Louis Cardinals up two games to nothing against divisional rival the Milwaukee Brewers. The last time the Cardinals reached the NLCS, they ended up moving on and winning the World Series against the Detroit Tigers. Speaking of the Detroit Tigers, they are currently down two games to one to 2010 World Series runner up and bookie software favorite the Texas Rangers. With only a week left to determine the World Series finalists, here is a sports betting update on the odds.
The Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals enter the 2011 League Championship Series as the favorites to make it to the next round. The Texas Rangers have the best odds of the four teams, as they are eight to one favorites to win the whole thing. Last season, the Rangers came within three wins of a World Series victory. As it stands right now, barring a great collapse, the Rangers are within two wins of returning to the World Series for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, the St. Louis Cardinals are looking to once again make it back to the World Series, after winning the title in 2006. St. Louis has been a feel good story for the 2011 season, as they shocked the baseball world, by coming all the way back from 12 games out to qualify for the playoffs. With momentum on their side, it appears unlikely anyone can stop them, even if their odds are 20 to one.
Detroit is a 30 to one dog to win the World Series, despite putting together one of the best second half’s of the season in league history. The Tigers strong suit has been their pitching staff, which by all accounts should get them back in the series with Texas tomorrow.
